Holiday Bazaar & Turkey Dinner

UMW Hosts Holiday Bazaar and Turkey Dinner

The Holiday Bazaar is a 2-day event where hand-made craft items are sold. These are not consignment crafts, but crafts made by our own congregation, so you can see how very important it is for everyone to make and donate items.

The Trash and Treasures Room may have exactly what you are looking for! Your donations of jewelry, small antiques, dishes, glassware, plants, books, toys, pictures, cookware, small appliances etc. make this a very popular part of the Holiday Bazaar. (No clothing, TV’s, or large electronics, please). Items may be brought to the church Sunday, October 29th through Tuesday, October 31st.

Shop the Country Store for home made pies, cakes, cookies, candies, bread, jellies, garden produce, etc. Your donations are appreciated for the Country Store.

On Thursday only (Nov. 2nd), a Luncheon is held for the shoppers and lunch time crowd. A menu of soups, sandwiches, salads, and desserts is served from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and priced a la carte.

The Turkey Dinner, a home-cooked meal of turkey/dressing with all of the trimmings, will be served Friday evening only (Nov. 3rd) from 4:30-7:00 p.m. The cost of the complete meal is $9.00/adults; $4.00/ages 7-12; $2.00/ages 2-6.

A designated “carry-out” food line will be in room M6 (Choir room). Tickets for the carry-out meal are $10.00 each.

The Holiday Bazaar / Turkey Dinner is the major fund raiser for the United Methodist Women. It is also a church wide fellowship event! The UMW hope that you will be able to assist with donations of items for the Bazaar, Trash and Treasures room, Country Store; including your time and food items.

Sign-up to Volunteer at the Holiday Bazaar and Turkey Dinner!

Volunteer sign-up for the Holiday Bazaar and Turkey Dinner will begin soon! It takes a considerable amount of time for the UMW to call everyone to assign tasks for the festivities; so sign-up now if you have not had an opportunity to choose a task yet. The UMW will be available to assist with sign-ups on the following Sundays: October 8th, 15th, and 22nd. Pick your favorite job site for the Turkey Dinner and serve as a family or together with your church friends!! Drop by the table in the Narthex and one of the women will help you choose specific times and tasks. If you can lend a hand, please sign-up or contact UMW President, Pat McCormick.

Prepping the Kitchen for Turkey Dinner

To prepare the kitchen for the Turkey Dinner, the UMW asks that you please check the kitchen counters and/or refrigerators for any leftover food items or containers which may have been left there throughout the year. Please remove them now so the women have room to work preparing for the Luncheon and Turkey Dinner. Thank you for your help!
